THE COLLECTION ONLINE

Created in 1983, the collection of the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais currently includes nearly 1,500 works of art and design from different mediums (photography, video, installations) and is organized around an initial grouping of historical works of Arte Povera, Minimal art, Conceptual Art, New Realism, individual mythologies or narratives, Pop Art and Fluxus.

From 1998, the focus was on the interaction between art and design (pattern, the artist and furniture designer, the wall-drawing) and the reconciliation of art with reality, through essentially relational aesthetics. Today, the Frac continues its acquisitions with acuity, with a particular emphasis on its mission to promote emerging artists, its location at transnational borders and the production of contemporary works. Finally, for the first time in its existence, Frac enriched its collection in 2007 with a large repository of works from the Dutch private collection,
